Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵ College’s 135th Commencement was held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. on the Margaret M. Winslow Great Lawn. Rep. Jamie Raskin delivered the keynote address, and President Kent Devereaux presided over the ceremony. Family, friends, faculty, staff, and alumni gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵’s Class of 2026.

The Class of 2026 Commencement was held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
Location
The Commencement ceremony was held outdoors on the Winslow Great Lawn.
Winslow Great Lawn is between the Athenaeum (#2) and Katharine and Jane Welsh Hall (#14) on the Campus Map for Commencement (PDF).

Graduation Ceremonies
Baccalaureate
At Baccalaureate, graduates, families, friends, faculty, and staff reflect on the meaning of the college experience and the transition of Commencement through responsive readings, prayers from many religious and ethnic traditions in different languages, music, and reflections from a graduate and a faculty or staff member.
Convocation
The annual Convocation celebrates the academic and artistic achievements of its students. The ceremony not only recognizes students who have earned academic honors but also celebrates artistic and civic achievements. A variety of honors and awards are bestowed.
Affinity Graduation Ceremonies
Affinity Graduation Ceremonies honor the accomplishments and experiences of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵ graduates from historically marginalized and underrepresented communities. These ceremonies highlight the personal and academic successes that have shaped a student’s journey at Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵ College. While celebrating common experiences, Affinity Graduation Ceremonies also provide an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and inspiration for aspiring seniors.

Phi Beta Kappa
The ceremony is an annual celebration to induct and celebrate the achievements of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵ students elected to join the Beta of Maryland Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Livestream
Family and friends who were not able to attend the ceremony in person were able to watch a livestream of Commencement.
Photography
A photographer hired by the college will be on stage during the ceremony to take pictures as graduates receive their diploma cover. There will be ample time after the ceremony for guests to photograph graduates. Please do not take photographs of the diploma presentations so as not to impede the view of other guests.
