Quit Smoking Support

Quitting smoking is difficult, especially if you’re trying to do it alone. Want some support? There are many sources, both online and in person, where you can connect with others who are struggling with the same task. Check out these resources for education or support to help you quit and stay quit.

In-Person Counseling

ˮAV˵Counseling Center - Free! 410-337-6481

  • Offer short-term counseling interventions
  • Can refer you to local, long-term support
  • Assess every student requesting to be seen (even if there is a “waitlist”).
  • They can usually see you within 7 to 12 days if it’s not a crisis/emergency

ˮAV˵Peer Listening Program - 443-632-7799

  • Offers night-of meeting with a peer trained in reflective listening strategy and knowledge of available resources
  • Peer Listeners on call every night from 7pm-2pm
  • Peer Listeners are NOT trained counselors

  • Provides referrals to local counselors for a variety of issues
  • Lots of options by which to filter
  • Able to search for low-cost or sliding scale

Telephone Counseling

    • Offers brief, single, and multi-session telephone counseling
    • Provides referrals for longer-term or in-person support
    • English, Spanish, other languages via an interpreter
