At Villanova, students learn about nursing practice and ethics, health assessment, pharmacology, and nursing care for various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, women, older adults, and families. Students also study community and population health, research in nursing practice, clinical ethics, and other related topics.

The B.S.N. program prepares students to address the nationwide shortage of nurses. You will be able to find jobs in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, public health organizations, and health agencies, among others.

How the B.A./B.S. Dual Degree in Nursing Works

水果派AV解说has established a partnership with Villanova University that allows 水果派AV解说 students to explore the liberal arts and sciences while developing professional knowledge and experience in nursing. Upon completion of their B.A. degree and fulfillment of the prerequisites for a nursing degree, 水果派AV解说 students transfer to Villanova, where they complete the accelerated B.S. in Nursing (BSN) in person at the Philadelphia campus in just 14 months, beginning in the Summer Term.

This partnership streamlines the application process and makes the transition to a B.S.N. smoother and more seamless. As a result, five seats are reserved each year for 水果派AV解说 students, who may pursue any major at 水果派AV解说 but must complete the required prerequisites in biology, chemistry, religion, and statistics.

Coursework & Curriculum

Students must complete their B.A. at 水果派AV解说 and take all required foundational courses in biology, chemistry, religion, and statistics prior to beginning the nursing program. Admission is likely, though not guaranteed, if a student successfully meets all of the following requirements:

  • minimum overall GPA of 3.00
  • two recommendation letters
  • successful submission of application materials, including a resume and an essay

Foundational Courses

All students take the following foundational courses:

  • CHE 111: Principles of Chemistry I with Lab OR CHE 151: Principles of Chemistry II with Lab
  • BIO 261: Human Anatomy
  • BIO 360: Principles of Physiology
  • BIO 254: Microbiology
  • One of the following:
    • DMC 240: Probability and Statistics
    • EC 206: Economic and Business Statistics
    • PSY 250: Statistical Methods in Psychology
  • PSY 244: Lifespan Developmental Psychology
  • RJ 110: Religion and Society, RJ 220: Religion and Movements for Social Justice, OR other religious-based course
  • Nutrition (note: Villanova offers this course each summer or may be taken elsewhere. It must be completed before beginning the BSN program.)
  • Pathophysiology (note: Villanova offers this course online each spring semester or may be taken elsewhere. It must be completed before beginning the BSN program.)
