Bachelor of Arts in French Transnational Studies

  1. Linguistic communicative proficiency in context.
    Students are able to communicate in French at the high intermediate level in writing and speaking (according to ACTFL standards*).

  2. Intercultural competence.
    Students demonstrate in writing and speaking awareness of diverse modes of thinking and living (including relations of power) in the francophone world.

  3. Knowledge base, understanding, and interpretation.
    Students demonstrate the ability to analyze a text with reference to the relations between form and content, its social and historical context, and diverse methods of textual interpretation.
