Lewent ’70, an accomplished business executive who retired in 2007 from Merck & Co. as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and her husband, Mark Shapiro, have pledged a $10 million lead gift to support the construction of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵’s Science Innovation Center, a $40 million expansion of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵’s existing Hoffberger Science Center designed to meet the demands of science, today and into the future.

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF), an organization aiming to serve and strengthen society by nurturing a diverse group of leaders in biomedical sciences to improve human health through education, has awarded Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵funds to collaborate with Stevenson University to further develop their long-standing Collaborative Teaching Fellows Program (CTFP) partnership with Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland.
