With the election less than six weeks away, opportunities for civic and voter engagement abound on Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵’s campus—through courses, events, and grants to support those efforts.

Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations Julie Chernov Hwang has been selected as a 2024-25 Harry Frank Guggenheim Distinguished Scholar. Chernov Hwang will use the fellowship to build a database for conducting research on how ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiyah construct terror cells.

In partnership with the Maryland Business Roundtable, Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵ welcomed high school students from throughout Maryland for Youth Congress Day. Building on Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵'s longstanding commitment to civic engagement, Nina Kasniunas, Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵associate professor of political science and director of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵ Votes, and members of Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵'s Voter Mobilization Team led a Rock the Vote session for students.

Ë®¹ûÅÉAV½â˵and the Greater Baltimore Committee are proud to announce Leadership Café, a speaker series program featuring top government officials and political leaders in state and federal government, as well as business executives.

Associate Professor Nina Kasniunas took her J-term class to New Hampshire so they could learn hands-on about the democratic process leading up to the primary election.
