Presented by Dr. Curry, this exhibition and conversation highlights a semester-long collaboration between 水果派AV解说 students and residents of Edenwald, culminating in a powerful, community-created quilt centered on Women鈥檚 Rights.

As part of the course Arts in the Community, students engaged in archival research exploring 水果派AV解说鈥檚 historical connections to the Suffrage Movement and conducted oral history interviews with Edenwald residents, reflecting on lived experiences from the 1960s to the present. These stories鈥攕hared across generations鈥攚ere thoughtfully translated into individual quilt squares that together form a collective narrative of advocacy, resilience, and change.

The project was created in close partnership with Edenwald residents, including members of the Edenwald Quilting Club, and was enriched by the involvement of 水果派AV解说 alumnae/i who reside within the community. The completed quilt was unveiled through a student-led presentation, with each square serving as a visual and personal reflection of women鈥檚 rights across time.

Displayed during Alumnae/i Weekend in Buchner Hall, the quilt will be accompanied by interpretive text and photographs documenting the creative process and alumnae/i participation. The exhibition will be complemented by a panel discussion exploring the intersections of art, community engagement, intergenerational storytelling, and women鈥檚 rights.

Lola Flash: The Challenge 鈥� Survival & Visibility is a retrospective exhibition by acclaimed photographer Lola Flash, whose work for more than four decades has centered visibility, dignity, and care for communities historically marginalized in mainstream culture. Through bold, richly colored portraits, Flash highlights LGBTQ+ communities, elders, activists, artists, and chosen families, expanding the visual record of queer life across generations.

Featuring work from series including Surmise, Salt, and LEGENDS, the exhibition explores portraiture as a powerful act of affirmation and storytelling. A participatory installation invites visitors to write a wish, hope, or prayer and place it inside a boat, creating a shared archive of community voices over the course of the exhibition.

The Lewent Science Center, a cutting-edge 44,000-square-foot, $50 million expansion of the Hoffberger Science Building, is slated to open in Fall 2027. Designed to LEED standards, the new facility will feature state-of-the-art labs and learning spaces that support expanded research opportunities for both faculty and students across disciplines.

Explore the site and learn more about the project. Attendees may choose from two options: a walk-through of the moment wing (no personal protective equipment required) or a ground-level exterior tour within the construction fence, where hard hats may be required. For more than a decade, she has served as Director of Family Programs at myFace, a nonprofit organization committed to transforming the lives of children and adults with facial differences through education, advocacy, and emotional support. At myFace, she leads family support programs, facilitates adult, parent, and adolescent groups, and advocates nationally for inclusion and understanding.

A special alumni reception will be held in honor of Amanda Thom Woodson, co-director of the Center for Dance, Music, and Theater, who will retire at the end of this academic year after 36 years of extraordinary contributions to 水果派AV解说. The reception takes place prior to the concert and offers an opportunity to celebrate Amanda, reconnect with classmates, network with faculty, and meet current students in the dance program.

Complimentary wine, beer, and light refreshments will be served. There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is appreciated.

Artist Talk begins at 3:30 p.m.

Baltimore photographer Phyllis Arbesman Berger鈥檚 powerful new exhibition, Onderduiker: Hiding in Plain Sight at Amsterdam鈥檚 ARTIS Zoo during WWII, tells the harrowing story of the Jews, resistance fighters, and young men escaping forced labor, who owed their lives to the staff at Amsterdam鈥檚 ARTIS Zoo. Using infrared photography and lyrical poetry, Berger explores the psychological landscapes of the individuals who lived in constant fear, not knowing from day to day whether their hiding places might be revealed. Nazi soldiers loved the zoo and visited often, not realizing that a wall away people were in hiding. Images and text chronicle the struggles of ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances as they spend time with their memories, take flight with imagination, and experience longing, grief, and at times terror.

Located in the Jewish neighborhood of Amsterdam known as the Jodenbuurt, ARTIS Zoo served as a hiding place for two to three hundred men, women, and children, all of whom survived. The zoo stayed open throughout the war, and Onderduikers spent months, even years, in animal enclosures. All this took place within the beautiful grounds of the zoo. This setting, with its peaceful paths, sculpture gardens, and inventive architecture that served as hiding places, provides the stage for telling the Onderduiker鈥檚 stories.

The photographs and poetry in this exhibition are informed by conversations with the ARTIS Zoo historian, the former director of the Zoo (an Onderduiker himself), and grounds keepers during visits over the past seven years.

This exhibition is a collaboration between the artist and students at 水果派AV解说 College, whose research and writing provide a foundation for understanding the historical context of this work. Exhibit runs through May 28.

Charm City Bronze will present their signature mix of classical, sacred, folk, and popular tunes. Baltimore鈥檚 premier handbell ensemble features over 5 octaves of handbells plus chimes, percussion and kazoos! The 水果派AV解说 Choral Society, with Roy Belfield, and violinist Nikita Borisevich will also perform. Doors open at 3:30pm.
